Noisy Tenant Evicted from Tyneside Home

A NOISY tenant has been evicted from his home after causing six months of problems for his fed up neighbours.

The Gateshead Housing Company evicted Glen Adam Smith from Ridley Terrace in Gateshead after dozens of complaints about his behaviour at the first-floor flat during the first few months of his tenancy.

Smith, 26, was taken to court after complaints about noise and drunken behaviour from December 2012 to May 2013.

Gateshead County Court granted the eviction order after hearing details of more than 60 complaints about the behaviour of Smith and his regular visitors.

Incidents included damage to the property and glass bottles being smashed in the lane behind the property.

As well as being evicted, the courts also ordered Smith to pay the costs of damage to the property and rent arrears outstanding on his home.
