UPVC SUPPLIERS LTD ESKVALE AND CLEVELAND LEAGUE TOP two Staithes Athletic and Lingdale United played out a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

Steve Starsmore opened the scoring for Staithes against the run of play, only for Luke Johnson to equalise.

The game continued to ebb and flow and the home side retook the lead when Starsmore scored with a header.

It looked to be game over when visiting Lingdale had two players sent off as things got a bit heated but Anthony Jones ensured honours finished even when he grabbed an 83rd minute equaliser.

Stokesley moved level on points with thirdplaced Hollybush by beating them 2-0 at home.

They made first half possession count when Mark Shimwell gave them the lead, and Atkinson added their second from a free-kick after Hollybush - who beat them Stokesley earlier this season - had offered little going forward.

Loftus Athletic remain a point behind the two teams above them with games in hand in fifth after winning 2-0 at a Goldsborough United side who suffered another defeat. …
