ENGAGEMENTS - WATKINS - BLANCH - The engagement is announced of Margaret Jean, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A G Blanch, of Ulmarra, to Noel Edward, youngest son of Mr and Mrs B Watkins, of Ulmarra.

A WELL-KNOWN woman journalist, Cynthia Robinson, was guest speaker at the Jacaranda dinner of the Grafton Quota Club last night. Among her overseas assignments were the 1951 Democratic Convention in Chicago, and the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960.

A UTILITY and a station sedan were involved in an accident last night at the intersection of Through and Wharf streets, South Grafton about 7.50. No one was injured in the accident and moderate damage was done to both vehicles. The drivers of the vehicles were Ernest Meskell, of Kelly street, South Grafton, and Greg Poche, of Vaueluse.

ONLY two entries in this year's Jacaranda home and business premises lighting competition was a disappointing result compared with last year's 20 entries. …
