SIZZLING weather presents special challenges for keeping your look fresh.

We asked makeup artist Anna Papadopoulos for international cosmetics guru Napoleon Perdis about looking foxy this summer season and about the hottest looks for summer.

Weekend: How do you stop eyeliner running in the heat?

Anna: Use a waterproof gel eyeliner for longevity. The gel formula can withstand heat and humidity which means you can rock a feline flick throughout the hot summer months. Always use a fine, angled brush for precise application.

We like: ModelCo Gel Eyeliner, $32, that won't smudge or flake and glides over the lash line without pulling or tugging the eyelid.

Weekend: What type of base is best for summer - and how do you make it last?

Anna: It is all about expensive-looking, luxe skin for summer. Skin should look radiant and fresh and coverage should be kept to a minimum.

To allow skin to breathe, water-based or gel foundations are best. Whatever your choice of foundation, ensure you always start with a primer.

We like: Napoleon Sheer Genius Foundation, $72. Weightless, luminous coverage, based on hydrogel technology. The foundation contains active ingredients to boost skin elasticity and moisture.

Weekend: Tell us how to make lipstick stay on and on!

Anna: Always line lips last. It seals in the lipstick so there is no movement. It also gives the most precise finish. Stick to more matte finishes and avoid anything overly glossy or moisturising.

We like: Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick, $25.95. This lippie provides all-day wear, giving lips a velvety, suede finish. Available in 20 shades.

Weekend: What colours are going to be hottest this summer for eyes and for lips?

Anna: For eyes go for a summer smoky look using bronze, apricot, mauve or navy hues. …
