Miracle Premmie Graduates; Born 15 Weeks Early, Bianca Now Has the World at Her Feet

THERE is an old chocolate tin sitting on the kitchen table. It might not look like a family heirloom but inside are some of the Ruzgys family's most treasured memories.

It is Bianca Ruzgys's show and tell box, which has visited many school classrooms in her 17 years.

Bianca was born 15 weeks prematurely, weighing 870grams. Her doctors gave her only a 20% chance of survival after she was flown to hospital in Townsville.

Today, she graduates from St Patrick's College.

Pulling the tin towards her, Bianca pulls out photos of her lying inside a humidicrib, covered in cords, with medical tape across her tiny face holding a tube to help her breathe.

"In the last couple of weeks, I have been thinking how amazing it is that I have come from barely surviving, to now graduating high school," she said.

"I am reflective at times. I have thought if I have survived the odds I can do anything. …
