LEADING Rockhampton kart driver Matt Dicinoski believes youngster Keegan Baker is the city's next genuine chance of breaking into V8 Supercar ranks.

And, that's exactly what the 13-year-old wants to do.

"I'd like to be a V8 Supercar driver one day," said Baker, who fittingly hopes to start a job at a Capricorn Coast bakery in the school holidays.

Competing in the Junior National Light Class, Baker won the Queensland C and D Class titles last month, and backed it up with another win at a Gladstone club meet on the weekend.

The Jamie Whincup fan is looking towards making it three straight wins in Emerald next weekend.

A student at St Brendan's College, Baker drives for the Two 4 Tuning race team, and his performances on the track have caught the eye of Dicinoski.

"Obviously, he's a long way off it at the moment, but he's definitely moving in the right direction," said Dicinoski, who also races for Two 4 Tuning. …
