Taming Brandi's Spirit; Miranda Turned Wild Horse into Gentle Pet

ALANIS Kidman always loved horses, until a terrible accident seven years ago forced her to give up riding.

When her 14-year-old daughter Alyfia fell in love with the creatures too, Alanis decided to buy her a horse for their Fraser Coast farm.

Brumby Brandi came into their lives a year-and-a-half ago after a local seller assured Alanis the horse would be suitable for a beginner.

But that wasn't the case. Brandi had issues.

"We ended up with pretty much a wild horse from the bush," Alanis said.

"My daughter had completely lost confidence and stopped riding."

Alanis said she had to find a horse trainer and researched more than 15 people in her hunt for the right person.

Enter Miranda Wells, a 30-year-old mother-of-three and life-long lover of horses from Nambour.

According to Alanis, Miranda was a godsend.

"She's a legend. I can't speak highly enough of Miranda," she said.

After spending just a few days with the trainer, Brandi, who some experts said would take months to train, began improving. …
