NESTLED on the main street of the Caloundra CBD, The Bookshop has become a part of the furnishings.

More than 25 years ago, residents Graeme and Chris Bowden decided to open their own book store on Bulcock St, and today it is still a favourite place for locals and visitors to browse and shop for their perfect story match.

The Bowdens know a thing or two about books and pride themselves on having lovely customer service, with strong knowledge on not only international and national authors but on our Sunshine Coast authors as well.

"At the moment, we've got too many local authors' books to count," Mr Bowden said.

"Our business has changed incredibly from 25 years ago.

"We used to order all our books by fax with a huge four-inch-thick book.

"And now everything is done electronically.

"When people stop by, they can expect pleasant service and somebody who knows about the product they are interested in."

The beautiful bookstore is run by the Bowdens and their full-time shop assistant Rosie Daymond.

And although e-books and online reading is an ever-growing trend in today's society, these book-savvy business owners still lend a helping hand in the online world. …
