MORE than 150 real estate agents and supporters recently gathered for a breakfast meeting at Maroochy Surf Life Saving Club to hear the latest information and innovations from within the industry as provided by the Real Estate Institute of Queensland.

These quarterly breakfasts are an integral part of the training provided by the REIQ to its members and they are sponsored by Tom Woods, representing Ferguson Cannon Solicitors, and Michelle Love, of the Commonwealth Bank.

The major presenters were Phil Oakes, who launched a new system for landlords and property managers called Property Safe, which provides total risk management to limit exposure from litigation.

More importantly it also makes the property safer for tenants and easier for property management. This system was warmly embraced by those attending. Cameron Dickensen, the state manager for RPdata, reinforced the change in the marketplace that agents have experienced in recent months.

The figures Mr Dickensen supplied also showed just how much more upside the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast market still has. …
