Imagine how the teams behind the hit-and-miss stories of 2013's reality talent shows are feeling right about now.

Both The X Factor and Australia's Got Talent have held their wrap parties to celebrate, and commiserate, season 2013.

And while the team behind one will be buzzing in the afterglow of a show that went well, the team behind the other will be suffering a shame hangover so bad that you consider staying permanently drunk to avoid it.

The X Factor had a good year.

But let's be fair, it was about bloody time.

The Seven show shook off the shackles of previous season debacles in the form of Altiyan and Kyle Sandilands and simply lucked out with the talent that made it through to the live shows.

It was moment TV, week after week, and Dami Im was a singing cash register for the network.
