I DON'T know about you but every year seems harder to get the swimsuit out, the white skin seems whiter, and we just don't seem to bake out in the sun like we use to (thank goodness).

If you love summer and the beach like the team at So U Beauty do, we thought we might tackle some tricky topics that we seem to get asked about quite often.

How do you rid yourself of dead skin?

Body beauty starts with great skin, so get into the habit of dry skin brushing with a natural bristle brush before your shower. It's a great way to boost circulation, while also ridding the skin of dead cells. The stimulating action will also encourage the drainage of excess fluid and waste, so if you suffer from water retention it's really beneficial. There are many body exfoliators you can buy that are packed with ingredients to help shed dead cells from the skin's surface, leaving a smooth and soft layer to accept sunless tanner. Our scrub includes exfoliating beads and Volcanic Ash, crushed stones, and Walnut shell powders.

What's the most effective way to keep your skin hyrdrated?

WHETHER you want to rehydrate, tone or anti-age, there's a body moisturiser out there for you.

Moisturising is accumulative, so the more often you do it, the better your skin will look and feel. Just a tip -- we have a Tan Extender, which is a moisturiser with bronzers, in other words it contains DHA. The Shea butter, olive oil, sunflower seed oil and aloe vera, all these ingredients work together to bronze and then maintain colour.

Shea butter is derived from the fruit of the karate tree and helps to smooth, protect and restore skin. It is doubly important to moisturise your skin if you are heading to the beach, as the sun will dehydrate the skin even if you use sunscreen. …
