Zumba Dancers Will Lift the Fun Level in City Mall; Public Will Be Invited to Join in Group Routine to Mark Disability Day

DOZENS of Zumba dancers are set to bust a move in Ipswich city mall tomorrow in recognition of International Day of People with Disability.

Zumba instructor Lauren Antonenko said she would lead a spontaneous dance session to celebrate the awareness event.

Ms Antonenko - who is also the manager of mobility product supplier Walk on Wheels - said she welcomed the idea of commemorating the day with music and dance.

"For me dance has always been a playing field leveller," she said.

"It doesn't matter what you're age or background is, everyone is equal when they are dancing.

"It levels out society and encourages everyone to have fun."

The event is planned to kick off tomorrow at 3.30pm and encourages people in the community to take part.

Ms Antonenko said she and a handful of Zumba dancers would lead audiences through a few easy-to-follow routines.

"We really hope people will feel inspired to jump in and take part," she said. …
