The apprenticeship programme took more than 18 months of training with apprentices achieving an NVQ level 2 in dock operations.

APRIL Around 145 jobs were announced in Stockton by occupational heath service provide Atos Healthcare. The new jobs were created at the Atos Healthcare Service Delivery Centre in Stockton.

MAY Teesside car parts manufacturer Nifco UK announced it was about to start work on its new multi-million pound factory extension.

The company's PS12m expansion to its Eaglescliffe site will eventually see staff numbers grow from the current 350 to 500. Plus the phase two development will boost turnover from PS48m to more than PS65m by 2015.

JUNE A key regeneration site on Teesside was given a multi-million pound cash boost. …
