Addict Committed 27 Crimes during Spree

A 12-MONTH crime spree came to a crashing halt when Jamie Alan Cahill was arrested.

His spate of offending began in June last year and ended in May this year. Cahill committed 27 offences and has since been in custody for 197 days.

He pleaded guilty in the Mackay Magistrates Court to four instances of disqualified driving, six counts of burglary (some with violence), unlawful use of a motor vehicle, multiple breaches of bail conditions, possessing modified weapons, obstructing police and drug-related charges.

The offending broke criminal and Commonwealth law.

On November 14, 2006, in the Supreme Court Cahill was jailed for eight years for conspiracy to import cocaine into Australia and released on a good behaviour bond after serving one-third of that.

In October 2011, he was ordered to serve another six months of the remaining time because he breached the order by committing a break and enter. …
