Mini-Runs Help out Hospice

THE Toowoomba Group of the Mini Owners Club of Queensland has a good relationship with its friends at the Toowoomba Hospice, according to group captain John Westaway.

"Our relationship started many years ago with the club raising money for the hospice, presenting the cheque after a short run ending at the hospice," he said.

"Our cars may be a[approximately]mini' but our hearts aren't."

The Toowoomba Group has monthly activities and a monthly MGM, featuring raffles and fines as a fun way of raising monies for one of their favourite charities, the hospice.

"We believe that the staff at the hospice are very special people and we are very happy to support them with some equipment where we can," Mr Westaway said.

"In recent years we have been able to supply a syringe driver, replace linen, replace handles and, this year, replace the curtains."

The group enjoys many social activities in a friendly atmosphere.

Hospice chairman Graham Barron says seeing the group driving their Minis sends a fun message to others. …
