TWO Queensland families holidaying in Yamba will be keeping their eyes peeled for a small silver car after two people approached their children at the weekend.

The mother of one of the children said a man and a woman driving a small silver car with NSW number plates stopped in front of two eight-year-old boys and told them to get in the car.

She said the car had been driving around the streets in a caravan park doing skids in the gravel before it stopped in front of the children.

"The kids just ran the other way," she said.

"The kids are much more aware of the dangers from strangers. …
