Acklam had talked about the importance of keeping the ball and making the opposition tackle therefore preventing them from getting any forward phases of their own.

And the tactic worked with Acklam scoring the first two tries. Wensleydale came storming back with a score.

More tries came as Acklam started to put some distance between the teams.

William, Riley and Liam led the line well supported by Joe and Kieren in the second row.

Tom had a very good game at scrum half (his first game in this position).

The backs of Callum, George P, George, Isaac and Jack played very well, controlled by captain Lewis Bollands. Lewis has grown into the captaincy and his communication to the team throughout the game was excellent.

More tries came as the team continued to keep their level of performance high. Wensleydale kept working hard and scored a second try.

Acklam try scorers were: Kierran (2) William, Riley, Liam and Callum. William Howe converted every try.

UNDER 14 Acklam 5 Billingham 44 TOM Hughes opened the scoring for Acklam with a fine individual run for a try under the posts.

Billingham composed themselves and out passed, and out scrummaged Acklam, forcing them into errors, in what was Acklam's worst display of the season. …
