43yo Man Charged over BBQ Stand-Off; Police Intervene in Argument over Damaged Goods

A MAN involved in an alleged stand-off with delivery workers at a property at The Hermitage east of Warwick has been charged with deprivation of liberty.

Police were called to the Mays Lane property mid-afternoon on Monday after being called by the manager of the delivery workers.

Police will allege a 43-year-old man at the property became angry after discovering a barbecue the workers had transported to the home was damaged.

It is understood the man parked a tractor to block the workers' exit in their truck for up to an hour.

A number of officers wearing body armour and four police vehicles attended the location.

The man was taken by police to the Warwick watchhouse for questioning late afternoon and was later charged with two counts of deprivation of liberty, as well as two counts of using a carriage service, namely a mobile phone, to intimidate and harass.

He was also charged with one count of insecure storage of firearms and several weapons were removed by police from the property. …
