Picking Injured Hart Is No Risk, Says Pellegrini

MANCHESTER City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists it would not be a risk to play goalkeeper Joe Hart at Swansea tomorrow.

Hart required five stitches in a gash under his left eye following a collision with Cameron Jerome in Saturday's 1-0 defeat of Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.

Hart received lengthy treatment at the time but continued and went on to earn the man-of-the-match award after a number of fine saves frustrated battling Palace in the second half.

It was a display that fully justified his recent recall to the side after a spell out, but by full time the wound had swollen considerably. But the 26-year-old (pictured right) has recovered well since and is not in any danger of missing City's New Year's Day trip to south Wales.

Pellegrini said: "Joe Hart has a cut beneath his eye but nothing important. It is not dangerous and he can play without any risk."

On the issue of Hart's form, after he was dropped in November and replaced by Costel Pantilimon for seven Premier League games, Pellegrini is convinced it is returning. …
