A PERSIAN kitten, a 4ft wedding cake and an Angel of the North statue were just some of the bizarre items left behind in North East Travelodges last year.

The budget hotel chain has revealed the most mysterious objects left in its six hotels across the region in 2013.

And topping the list was a Persian kitten named Lady Diamond, who was thankfully returned to her owner an hour after she'd been forgotten.

Absentminded holidaymakers also forgot Christian Louboutin shoes, a 4ft wedding cake, a Chinese New Year dragon head, a 2ft Angel of the North statue, a male mannequin dressed in a Newcastle shirt, a collection of personalised onesies and a 3ft cuddly hen.

Across the UK, some of the more bizarre items to be left behind include a prenuptial agreement, a set of 24 carat gold Indian Gods, deeds to a PS2m house, a set of exclusive trial yoghurt flavours that have not been launched to the public, a PS5,000 Vera Wang wedding dress and a pet tarantula called Hercules. …
