Engagement: Kenny - Masen - Mr and Mrs C.J. Masen, of Yamba, have much pleasure in announcing the engagement of their youngest and twin daughter, Diane Margaret, to John Joseph, only son of Mr and Mrs J.T. Kenny, of Palmers Island.

Grafton residents almost had an opportunity to see eggs being fried on a burning hot road yesterday when a van carrying two tons of eggs turned over. Although there were no reports of eggs actually being fried on the road, there was considerable damage to the van and contents. The van overturned at the intersection of Victoria and Mary streets when part of the suspension broke as the truck was turning the corner. Eggs oozed out onto the road and other goods were also damaged.

On Monday, January 6, Northern Rivers Television Limited filed its prospectus for the joint issue of 480,000 ordinary 5/ shares and 240,000 8 per cent, registered unsecured notes. The funds to be raised by the issue will be used to finance the completion of the various facilities necessary to operate a commercial television station from Coffs Harbour to serve the Grafton-Kempsey area. …
