McLennan-Burgess, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Burgess of 21 Fry street, Grafton, have pleasure in announcing the engagement of their only daughter, Barbara Ann, to Donald James McLennan, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. V. McLennan, Waterview, South Grafton.

BIRTHS - Morgan (nee Page) - To Connie and Frank, a son, 1/10/64. Both well.

Mrs. L. Stead, of Arthur street, Grafton, has received word of her granddaughter, Valerie's success in the recent Leaving Certificate examination.

Valerie, who attended Wauchope High School, gained six A passes. she is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stead, formerly of Grafton and Coffs Harbour.

A group of Graftonians watched a bright object in the night sky moving over Grafton last night about 9.30.

The object was very bright and moving very slowly north towards Carr's Creek. It was followed by a long golden tail.

Shortly after the first group reported sighting the "star", another phone call was received at The Daily Examiner. …
