FORMER Sunshine Coast ironman Rhys Drury says the Channel 9 broadcast of the Nutri-Grain Series is going to change the way fans look at the sport.

Drury will be part of the new-look broadcast of the professional surf lifesaving series which will be unveiled to viewers when round one is aired tomorrow.

The 2007 Coolangatta Gold champion will commentate alongside Tim Gilbert, ironman legend Trevor Hendy, journalist Roz Kelly and skateboarder Corbin Harris.

Channel 9 has taken over the broadcast rights for the 2013-14 series from Channel 10 and wasted no time mixing things up.

It introduced a new reality television show, Deep Water, based around the athletes and announced five of the six rounds would be on a delayed telecast.

Only the final round at Coolum will be shown live, but Drury said the extra time had been used to polish the final product and it was worth the wait.
