FEELING healthy can make a huge difference to a person's overall wellbeing and lifestyle.

And an aquatic fitness class is one way people of all ages, be male or female, can keep fit.

Gladstone Physio and Fitness has embraced this type of exercise, by offering aquatic classes two days per week.

Personal trainer and aquatic therapist Tracey Moore said the most predominant benefits were gaining the supportive properties of the water.

"You're working on resistance and everyone can work on a different realm," she said.

"You work about 11 times harder than you do on land."

Ms Moore said the effectiveness of exercise increases when someone is immersed in water.

She explained a classic example of this was when we see sportspeople; they are commonly training in water.

The class is based on a combination of cardio, strengthening and flexibility exercises resulting in an all over body workout which will help achieve a stronger and healthier you. …
