Life Goes Full Circle for Newest Teacher

IMAGINE working alongside the very people who inspired your career path; this is now reality for qualified teacher Chrissy Alley.

Only five years after graduating as a Year 12 student from Warwick State High School, the drama and art teacher has returned to sit on the other side of the staff- room door.

"I always thought my time in Warwick was over, but as things went on I realised that's not how I wanted it to be," Mrs Alley said, excited to teach back at her old high school.

After spending her six weeks of prac at the end of 2013 at Warwick High, Mrs Alley was offered the position as a drama and art teacher at the place her passion for the arts began.

"At first I was worried going back to my high school wasn't the best step professionally but it's been amazing the support I've received from the staff."

Mrs Alley said she was surprised at how smooth the transition was from student to teacher.

"Having knowledge for the people and the families here should hopefully make it easier to understand where a child is coming from," she said. …
