Liberty Clears Its Jacksonville Holdings; 32 Properties, Consisting of Office Buildings, Are Sold for $197 Million

Liberty Property Trust has sold all 32 of its Jacksonville properties to a Connecticut firm for $197 million. The properties consist of office buildings in the Southpoint/Belfort Road area with a total of 2.1 million square feet and 115 undeveloped acres on Imeson Road west of Interstate 295.

Among the office buildings: Liberty Center, Enterprise Park, Butler Plaza, Liberty Business Park and Center Point Business Park.

Liberty had developed most of those properties, dating back to 1972, said Jeanne Leonard, a company spokeswoman. The company had announced in November that it was selling 97 properties around the country, but didn't identify the buyer.

On Friday, the sales were recorded with the Duval County Clerk of Court. Greenfield Partners purchased the properties through four limited liability corporations. Greenfield also purchased 12 properties in Minnesota and five in Pennsylvania for a total price of $367.7 million. …
