Besties Have Fun Baking Treats with Love

OUTSIDE the wind is howling and the rain feels grey on your skin, as it pelts from the bleak sky.

But inside Michelle Anderson's home, it is warm and inviting.

Michelle and best friend Karley Cunningham's smiles are infectious.

Their laughter matches the fun of their identical aprons.

The best friends are the faces behind Healthy Stuff n Junk - the healthy treats with distinctive red love heart packaging.

For the pair, happiness is homemade.

The love heart is more than a marketing tool for their hobby turned business - it symbolises their main ingredient, love.

"We do actually write love on our ingredients, because we actually do put a lot of love into our products," Michelle said.

"Baking is such a nice thing to do for people," Karley said.

Since June last year, they have been cooking healthy baked goods for the Mackay community.

It started out as an idea, a little side hobby project, in between their "real" jobs and raising their families.

"It has been crazy - we thought it would be a fun way to hang out and stuff, but now we are yelling at each other over the phone," Michelle joked.

"All we talk about is food," Karley said.

The pair cooks weekly orders in separate kitchens and comes together at the end of the week to package the signature treats for their growing number of foodie fans.

Some of the popular treats include their power protein balls, oat flour brownies, granola breakfast bars and muffins made with coconut flour and almond meal.

Their products are on the healthier side, but still have a naughty taste.

They believe that fast food doesn't have to be unhealthy, anymore.

"We make food using the best quality products we can find," Michelle said. "We use whole foods, nothing processed.

"We have a supplier that we use for just about every ingredient and they guarantee no pesticides. …
