SEA SCENE ROUGH seas have brought the cod inshore, and while conditions have been tricky, with some anglers giving up early, match results have been good.

Terry Dalton won one of the St Mary's matches.

He caught six cod from Kettleness, to weigh in 18lb 12oz.

His son Darren caught the biggest cod of the match - and the club's equal biggest of the season - a fish of 8lb 4oz.

He added two codling and was runner-up with 11lb 8.5oz. He also fished at Kettleness.

Andy Burton came third with 9lb 2.5oz.

He focussed on whiting and caught 11 from Pilot Pier in Hartlepool.

Of the 16 who fished the match, six weighed in a total of 13 cod and 11 whiting.

The Dalton duo also framed in the club's next match, though were beaten for top spot by Chris Wood.

He weighed in 9lb 4.5oz, made up of two cod, including the biggest fish of the match at 6lb 13. …
