D-Day for Gold Coast; Don, Douglas Named as Titans Prepare for Warriors

CLARENCE Valley duo Anthony Don and Luke Douglas have been named in the Gold Coast Titans line-up to take on the Warriors on Sunday.

Douglas has been named in the front row for the trial match while Don will get his chance to impress coach John Cartwright in his favoured fullback position.

Don played 13 games for the Titans last year, most of them on the wing.

A noted attacker, Don has had to bide his time at the Titans with William Zillman the first-choice fullback.

Sunday's clash against the Warriors at North Harbour Stadium in Albany will give him a chance to press his claims for the No.1 jersey.

Don starred at fullback for Grafton Ghosts in his breakout 2010 season, finishing the year with 302 points (40 tries and 71 goals).

He moved to Burleigh Bears the following season and was named their Player of the Year despite missing part of the season through injury.

Despite another injury-interrupted season with the Bears in 2012, he secured a two-year deal with the Titans. …
