Rush Hour Delays after Collisions on A19

TEESSIDE commuters were given a traffic headache during rush hour due to a series of collisions on the A19.

One of the collisions saw a bus spin round and collide with a security fence on the northbound carriageway at the sliproad to the A66.

There were no passengers on the Compass Royston coach and the driver was out of the vehicle when police arrived.

The collision happened at about 9.30am yesterday.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "The driver was out of the coach when police arrived and. He was left shaken by the incident.

The coach collided with a green security fence near Teesside Park."

Traffic was able to pass the bus but it still caused traffic delays.

Earlier in the morning, two Transit white vans collided near the Norton interchange.

The collision was again in the northbound carriageway and happened under the bridge for the A1027 road. …
