THE Jeep Grand Cherokee is a mighty piece of kit - in fact it's like many modern 4x4 models but on steroids.

It looks impressive from any angle with its larger-than-life, chunky build and the 20-inch alloys mean the side steps are most welcome.

Add in the satin silver roof rails, front and rear LED lights with daytime running lights, deep-tinted privacy glass, powered tailgate, chrome door handles and beefy grille and it's easy to see why the Grand Cherokee is such a stand-out vehicle.

But, despite its masculine, ready-for-action stance, the vehicle has a softer side and that can be explored within the cabin.

Once you're behind the heated, multi-function steering wheel, it's hard not to be impressed with the build quality and high levels of craftsmanship.

Jeep has incorporated fine leathers and suede with eye-catching wooden inlays and flashes of chrome to create a premium quality interior.

Light floods into the cabin through a double sunroof spanning the length of the vehicle and there is a true sense of space for all occupants.

Even back seat passengers can stretch out in style and enjoy their own individual heated seat settings.

Techno treats are plentiful as one might expect from a vehicle topping the PS50,000 mark and include heated or ventilated leather seats, an 8.4-inch colour touchscreen with sat nav, Bluetooth and a 19-speaker sound system.

The front seats can be electronically adjusted with memory settings for the driver. There are rain sensitive wipers, front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera, automatic dual-zone climate control and plenty more besides.

The driver benefits from excellent all-round visibility thanks to the high-seated position and the rear headrests can also be folded flat so the view through the rear screen is unobscured.

The Grand Cherokee proved deceptively agile and nimble for its size. In and around town, it cruises effortlessly among the busy city centre traffic - although finding a parking space big enough to house the vehicle can be a challenge. …
