SIMON Burgess is probably one of the only people who hopes he will one day be without a job.

But when you work with young people who are struggling with issues like depression, anxiety and bullying, the Headspace manager said it's the nature of the business to want to work to self-extinction.

Since Headspace opened in Rockhampton almost three weeks ago Simon said they have mainly treated people with anxiety and depression.

However, Headspace provides services for any issue facing young people between 12 and 25.

This can involve mental health issues, bullying, struggles with employment, or relationship breakdowns, to name some.

Clinical lead Lisa Loots said depression was a big issue with youth, and not just in Rockhampton.

"Of course... where depression and anxiety is a big one, they come across with suicidal thoughts," she said. …
