TIM KRUL'S World Cup dream has suffered a dent after being left out of the Holland squad to face France next week.

The Newcastle goalkeeper stated himself that the clash in Paris was key to being on the plane for the finals in Brazil in the summer.

And boss Louis van Gaal recently echoed those senitiments.

But the three keeper slots have been handed to Ajax's Jasper Cillessen, Swansea's Michel Vorm and PSV Eindhoven star Jeroen Zoet - a player that Newcastle have scouted in the last 12 months.

However, Van Gaal offered some hope to those left out of his squad when he said: "It is likely that I did not select a number of players to assess newcomers.

"It is the last chance before the final selection is known."

There was also no place for Luuk de Jong but the on loan Toon striker admitted last week it was only a distant hope.

Krul was left out of Holland's previous friendly games earlier in the season. …
