IT IS not often a player makes his debut for a club with just two weeks to go in the season.

Daniel Mills arrived in Gladstone a few weeks ago, as a young and enthusiastic teacher, and on Saturday donned the helmet and pads for Brothers cricket team for the first time. "I moved to Gladstone at the start of the school year, I am a teacher at Central State School," Mills said.

"That was my first game for them. I scored 27."

Finding the Brothers teams on a random drive past a training session, Mills stopped off and said hi and was soon into the team.

The all-rounder is keen to make the club his home, ready to hang around for a while.

"I would love to, I like it here and would really like to keep playing for Brothers," he said.
