HAVE you ever found yourself in the position of doing something because you think it's expected of you?

This is how I usually end up with far too much on my plate.

And unfortunately, it's the reason that I'm taking a bit of a break from this column.

I get the biggest kick out of people telling me that they read this column, and that they love picking up the paper on a Tuesday morning to see what misadventure has happened to me in the past week.

Sadly though, it's something that I do just for the love of it.

No money changes hands at all (although I am open to the idea).

And there comes a time that I have to make a choice.

A choice between something that I love and something that I just really have to suck it up and get done.

In this case, it is my Masters degree (in Public Relations, just in case you might have been wondering).

While I do quite regularly question the point of further study (especially when it seems that I'm probably going to abandon my career for baby-making in a few years' time), it's something that I've committed to for this season in my life. …
