IF the club had fired Alan Pardew for this inexcusable offence (the incident at Hull), the line would already be drawn under this.

As it is, this is going to follow Pardew and, unfortunately, our club for a long, long time.

However, I agree with people who say he should have no contact with John Carver on match days.

In fact I think it would be a lot better if he didn't have any contact with the squad for the whole eight-game period of his ban.

If this was the case we might have some of our "star" players regaining their form, be played in their proper positions and start playing football again.

I am not sure any line would have been drawn if the manager had been sacked. I think it will follow him for some time, but not necessarily the club whom I believe acted correctly and decisively. …
