ONE of Toowoomba cricket's longest partnerships hits the triple-century mark tomorrow when John Littleproud and Jeff Mays pad up for the TCI Reserve Grade grand final.

In a remarkable coincidence, both players will step out in their 300th match for University when they take on Wests.

Littleproud and Mays will become the third and fourth University players to reach the mark after Robbie Phillips and Jon Ikin.

The teammates and good friends have enjoyed almost every honour Toowoomba cricket has to offer, but both agree this weekend's shared milestone promises to be a memorable one.

"I only found out about this at the beginning of our last fixture game," Mays said.

"I've been away in Darwin for a big part of this season and I also had a year off.

"But it's excellent John and I have managed to hang around this long, and 300 is a good number to celebrate together.

"I'd like to go for 400 next. …
