Clocktower Hotel Brothers rightly go into the CRCA Second Grade grand final as firm favourites.

Defending champions, minor premiers and they have an impressive record against their opponents, Clarence Valley Pest Control Tucabia-Copmanhurst.

This season Brothers have beaten them in all three completed matches and missed out on another by just one wicket in one of two washed-out draws.

Durand Hartz, with 368 runs at 33.45, and Corey Bertalli, with 25 wickets at 5.08, have been the standouts in a Brothers side that oozes experience.

However, Tucabia enters the game on the back of a solid performance against its own whipping boys, Westlawn.

Despite finishing below them in third place on the ladder, Tucabia had the wood over Westlawn in the second half of the season, winning their last four encounters.

Once again they were in control from the outset in the preliminary final. Opening batsman Brett Pardoe top scored with 48 as Tucabia posted 119, and then had first innings points wrapped up early on Sunday. …
