THERE was a full schedule of 237 matches played last weekend, including a further ten TJFA semi-final cup ties, which saw 1,174 goals being scored and 51 players recording hattricks or better.

The best individual scoring performance last weekend went to Ethan Dollin of Seaton Carew Under-14s Division Four, who scored eight goals for his team.

As usual there were some really close, hard-fought matches as both cup and league competitions drew closer to a conclusion, with 11 of the 18 cup finals line-ups completed.

One team through to the final of the League Cup is Stokesley A, who booked their seventh successive trip to Rockliffe Park with an extra time goal to defeat Seaton Carew Lions 3-2. It was a tremendous effort from Seaton, who still have the third division championship crown as a reward for their excellent season, but despite being ahead twice, they were undone by battling Stokesley.

The Seaton Carew goals were courtesy of Ben Goodchild and Luke Hogan, with Ryan Bennions netting twice - including the winner - and Matthew Dixon once for Stokesley.

Two top sides couldn't be separated in the league last weekend as Middleton Rangers and Wynyard Village drew 2-2 in the Under-10s Durham Division Two.

This was a more favourable result for Wynyard, as they remain undefeated at the top of the league with only a handful of matches left to play.

Middleton are hanging on in the hunt, though they are further behind after second placed Darlington TSC bagged three points thanks to a 1-0 win at Billingham Town.

Rory Jones and Harvey Matthias hit the target for Middleton, with Matthew Ward striking twice for Wynyard.

Cleveland Juniors Lions also kept their hopes of lifting silverware alive as Ellis Myers struck to give them a 1-0 win over second placed Redcar Newmarket A in the Under-10s North Riding second division. …
