Brothers, Workers Square off in Grand Final Rematch

THE 2014 Far North Coast baseball season will get under way tonight when last year's grand finalists Brothers take on Workers.

Neither team has changed much from last year.

Brothers have lost 2013 batting champion Matt Buckley, who has study commitments this year.

Paul Latta has also hung up his boots to concentrate on umpiring.

Brothers have gained Matt Hudson, a left-arm pitcher from the Central Coast.

Sam Martin will be another regular in their Major League team after an excellent showing for Queensland in the Under-18 national championships.

Brothers also have a talented pool of juniors to call on if required.

Workers have lost Trent Clark, who has moved overseas, but have gained Bryce Martin, who is back after four years.

If the grand final last year is anything to go by, little will separate the two teams.

Both teams have solid line-ups where one swing of the bat can open a game up. …
