IT WAS the little school that could.

A mammoth whole-community effort has helped Kin Kin State School win the Sunshine Coast Daily schools iPad competition.

The school of 66 students, one of the smallest schools on the Coast, collectively gathered 5500 tokens in the Daily throughout the 38-day competition.

This equated to two tokens per student, per day.

Parents, teachers and students sold out local newsagents of The Daily in their quest to win a set of 10 iPads for the school.

Principal Trent Shaw said the school community was ecstatic to win, ensuring their efforts paid off.

"It's been a great way to see out the school term," Mr Shaw said.

"The staff were in a planning meeting the day all the students heard they had won and we could hear their screams and cheering.

"Our student council held free dress days every Friday of the competition, collecting gold coin donations so we can buy more papers to collect more tokens. …
