SPICE up your Saturday in the name of a good cause and join in Maleny's Bollywood night.

Fundraising organisation, Shed the Light, is hosting the annual event at Maleny RSL hall tonight from 6pm.

Included in the $22 entry fee for an evening of dancing and entertainment is delicious Indian cuisine.

Proceeds raised go directly to Shed the Light to help poor children of Nepal.

The registered charity was started in February 2001 by Kenilworth's Suzanne Kupiak after she went on a missionary trip to the country.

Ms Kupiak was so moved by what she saw in Nepal she began a fundraising initiative at home to send funds back to the country and to start a home for the poor children.

Despite Ms Kupiak's tragic and unexpected death in February in Nepal, her good work hasn't only continued, it is growing.

Shed the Light is looking to raise enough funds to purchase land for a permanent home for the children. …
