A BEACHGOER who performed a strip tease in front of a female sunbather and also flashed his g-string to three teenage girls in Hungry Jack's has expressed deep remorse for causing any fear.

John Hartley Pears, 53, a disability support pensioner from Fortitude Valley, pleaded guilty in Maroochydore Magistrates Court to two counts of being a public nuisance.

"I definitely didn't mean to have a detrimental affect on anyone involved," Mr Pears, trembling and fighting back tears, said outside court.

"The last thing I wanted to do was to scare anyone.

"I feel for the people I have unintentionally frightened.

"I'm not a bad person. I've never hurt anyone in my life."

The court heard Pears had approached a woman lying on the beach between Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland on September 24, 2012.

"He removed his shirt in a striptease fashion and then grabbed himself in the front, adjusting his g-string," Prosecutor Stuart Lydford said. …
