NEWCASTLE United's Alan Pardew has blamed the Chronicle for his team's poor performance.

The Toon manager hit out at the paper and its sister titles claiming they were to blame for fans' anger after disastrous form in 2014.

Speaking at a press conference after the team lost to Stoke City on Saturday, Pardew said: "The local Press up in the North East has been damaging for us. They have come for us. They have been banned from the stadium, that has been reflected in the fans."

The 1-0 away loss to Stoke City means the Magpies have won just three games out of 16 in all competitions.

So we asked you if you are satisfied with Pardew, newly-appointed managing director Lee Charnley and owner Mike Ashley through our Pards-ometer on the Chronicle website.

And the results were pretty low with Pardew getting a satisfaction rate of 8.0%, Mike Ashley 6.1% and Lee Charnley 11.3%.

As well as rating the NUFC bosses, readers were also quick to leave their thoughts on the latest development at the club.

Mick Hammond said: "The Press are to blame, I didn't realise that the Chronicle were responsible for picking the starting 11 and choosing the formation we play. Wow, I am 43 years old and I have only just found that out, and all this time I have been stupidly blaming the manager. Shame on you Chronicle for making us the worst team in the premiership at present." Aidan Montgomery wrote: "So Alan, you're blaming the local Press for your appalling team's display? I tell you what, win a few games or at least entertain the paying public, then the local Press might give you more support."

Alan Forster said: "The mood is changing and everyone can see it. Just take responsibility and go - you've been well rewarded in your time at NUFC so can't really complain. …
