SUNSHINE Coast school teacher Matisse Celli is practising her best curtsy in anticipation of the royal encounter of a lifetime.

The Chancellor State College junior and secondary teacher (pictured) will don a designer dress, trimmed with lace, to attend the exclusive royal reception with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Brisbane today.

Miss Celli is hoping to meet Prince William, Kate and perhaps even baby George at the four-hour formal event at South Bank.

The maths, science, Italian and outdoor-education teacher was shocked when she received an invitation to the event, which would usually be reserved for dignitaries and leaders.

She was chosen to attend as a representative from the Duke of Edinburgh Award program, as a core organiser for Chancellor State College.

"I didn't believe it at first when I received the email at work," Miss Celli said.

"I thought with a headline like a[approximately]Meet Prince William', it had to be spam. …
