A DOWNWARD trend is brewing in Rockhampton.

Many locals have noticed wooden boards nailed across several Rockhampton hotel and pub doors, or "we have closed down" signs plastered across glass windows.

The Post Office Hotel, in Musgrave St, is the latest pub to join the list of Rocky drinking holes that have closed their doors.

The Morning Bulletin understands the former Post Office Hotel lessees left the region almost two weeks ago.

Freehold title owner John Bidgood said he was still owed about three months of unpaid rent.

He said he understood the former lessees dropped off the keys, to the Post Office Hotel, outside the house of a Rockhampton solicitor before leaving. …
