What is your life story as a Boro fan? MY first memories from becoming a supporter began during the liquidation period.

My father had moved to a street across the road from Ayresome Park and the sheer size of the ground dominating the end of the street made me fall in love with the club before I even remember seeing a ball being kicked.

Once the club had been saved and match days returned to Ayresome Park I was in awe of the amount of people filing past the windows all in their red and white.

My father started taking me to meet the players walking from their cars to the gates, for autographs and pictures, and the lasting memories are of how approachable and friendly the players were.

From that period I started going to as many games as I could with my father and once old enough bought a season ticket that I continue to this day with Megan.

I continue to do with Megan what my father did with me at Ayresome and am thankful that Megan has grown to love the club as much as I do.

Some fantastic memories and players have come through in the time I have supported the club but the one special mention I would have to make would be to Bruce Rioch.

Steve Gibson saved the club financially but I feel that had Bruce not been the manager during that period that we would not have the club we all support to this day.

Who is your favourite alltime Boro player? Craig Hignett. Higgy for me was always underrated, fully of energy, effort, guile and goals.

He stood out among the socalled bigger names of the teams he played in.

Ultimately his loyalty to the club shone towards the end of his playing career which earned my respect and that continues to this day in the many different roles Craig has held at the club and with BBC Tees.

Many others have stood out over time, however Craig will always be the best footballer I have seen at Middlesbrough.

Who is your Boro villain? THE one name that stands out is Michael Ricketts. …
