KASEY Chambers is back in Tweed next weekend with a new band in tow.

The singer-songwriter recorded her latest album in Byron Bay this month, before heading to Bluesfest to road test some of her new material.

Now she's hitting the road, with some good friends, for the Foggy Mountain Jam tour. She is joined by Busby Marou, Ashleigh Dallas and Harry Hooker.

Chambers said fans should expect a bunch of her older material - dating as far back as her 2010 album The Captain - as well as some upcoming releases.

"I'm so excited," Chambers said.

"We've been touring a bit over the last few months."

The Foggy Mountain Jam tour started as a bunch of musically-minded friends who would get up and jam together at the end of shows.

"They're beautiful people to work with," she said.

"It's good to bring that off-stage vibe into the performance."

Chambers said, after spending time with her tour guests on a social level, it was special to connect to them in a professional manner.

She said she was also looking forward to returning to Twin Towns.

"I've been lucky enough to play at Twin Towns quite a few times," she said.

"It's just always a fun place to play, with a great room.

"I seem to have a lot of fans in that area."

After a few years away from the studio, Chambers said it was refreshing to get back into it and work with new people.

"I'd never recorded in Byron before," she said.

Chambers said producer Nick DiDia - who has worked with the likes of Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen - gave her a good excuse for a seaside recording getaway.

She explained DiDia - originally from the US - now lives in Byron.

"I thought it was the perfect excuse to spend a week in Byron," she said.

"I get a real buzz out of recording."

Just after emerging from the studio, Chambers gave Bluesfest punters a taste of what's to come on the new album. …
