A FEW injuries to key players have left Avondale under strength ahead of its encounter with a rejuvenated South Kolan outfit.

Division 1 coach Mick O'Sullivan said fullback Sunny Carmen, second-rower Mel Carmen and hooker Frank Primavera were all out of tomorrow's clash to be played at Avondale.

"Frank will be out for most of the season and will be a massive loss," O'Sullivan said.

O'Sullivan said the team would be wary after its 30-26 loss to South Kolan a fortnight ago in the Northern Districts Rugby League competition.

"You can't afford to be off your game against them because they can hurt you across the paddock," he said.

"Your defence has got to be spot on."

With a new-look team South Kolan will look to shed the minnows tag and be a competitive outfit for the rest of the season.

South Kolan suffered the ultimate fall from grace after winning the premiership in 2012 to wooden-spooners last year. …
