Jet Retires from Police Duty ...Now He Needs New Home

A FORMER Cleveland Police dog is in need of a new home where he can live out his retirement.

Police are appealing to the public to rehome eight-year-old German Shepherd Jet who recently retired from the force after five and a half years.

Before serving with Cleveland Police he also spent time with Greater Manchester Police.

Jet is social with people but can be aggressive towards other dogs, although he will tolerate them given time. He has spent limited time around children. Anyone wishing to take him on needs to be physically fit in order to maintain control while Jet, who is very strong, is on a lead.

While he likes to play with a ball, he has a pre-existing medical condition which requires daily medication and due to this condition he should avoid jumping and climbing obstacles.

Jet would be best suited to a rural environment and therefore it's recommended that he goes to a home which is close to countryside where contact with other dogs and children is likely to be minimal. …
